Comenzamos hoy a utilizar el libro de Valores. Primero veremos las unidades de que consta este curso y cómo están distribuidas.

Leemos la introducción del libro y de la primer unidad.

Everyone will have a copy to keep at their desk until we finish.

Then we will let the books in quarantine for a few days and we will switch them with the other class.

Hemos conseguido vernos en el aula y comenzar las clase de forma presencial y adoptando todas las medidas de seguridad a nuestro alcance para mantenernos protegidos del virus. Pero, según se están poniendo las cosas en Madrid, deberíamos estar preparados para cualquier circunstancia.

Este curso las reuniones trimestrales y las tutorías no van a poder tener lugar en el centro de manera presencial (salvo casos muy excepcionales debidamente justificados a Dirección) y tendremos que recurrir a la tecnología. Por eso, y porque en algún momento puede que un alumno falte o, en el peor de los casos, haya que confinar a algún grupo en concreto, necesitamos tener actualizados vuestros datos de contacto y la situación en vuestras casas respecto a recursos tecnológicos para seguir las clases online.

Os pedimos POR FAVOR, que os toméis unos minutos para responder a este formulario. Es MUY IMPORTANTE que contestéis lo antes posible y con total sinceridad para, entre todos, tratar de ayudar a vuestros hijos en el caso de tener que recurrir a clases online.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL... after a long, long time

Today, first day of school after some months apart, we welcome a new student in 6ºA (David). We hope he feels happy among us.

First we are learning  the new rules and schedule at school.

Next  we are writing a brief tweet about how we are feeling back at school. 

Then we will learn interesting things about the pandemic COVID-19 and some important guidelines to be protected.

BIENVENIDA CURSO 2020-2021

Comenzamos un nuevo curso

Damos comienzo a este nuevo curso 2020-2021, tras las vacaciones de verano que siguieron al largo confinamiento por la pandemia causada por el coronavirus SARS-COV 2. Varios meses sin clases presenciales, sin vernos, sin pisar el colegio, sin trabajar en las aulas, sin jugar en el patio...

Estamos contentos de volver a vernos y de poder  recuperar un poco la dinámica de clases que dejamos atrás en marzo. Volvemos, sí, pero sabemos que este curso va a ser un poco distinto. 

De entrada sabemos que tendremos que extremar las precauciones porque el virus sigue entre nosotros todavía y debemos llevar cuidado de no enfermar y de que no enfermen nuestros seres queridos, especialmente los más vulnerables, aquellas personas para las que puede suponer peores complicaciones.

En la dinámica del centro comprobaréis cambios significativos: grupos burbuja, uso de geles hidroalcóholicos, no se comparte material escolar ni de juegos, distancia social...

Los alumnos de cursos más bajos, que llevan ya varios días asistiendo a clase, se han adaptado estupendamente, por lo que creemos que los mayores no tendrán ningún problema. 

Recomendamos no pensar en lo que no podemos hacer, sino

centrarnos en disfrutar con lo que sí  podemos hacer.

Entre todos buscaremos fórmulas para seguir conectados, desde la distancia, con los amigos y compañeros del otro grupo. Buscaremos fórmulas de realizar trabajos en equipo a través de dispositivos electrónicos. Idearemos juegos nuevos que no requieran contacto físico con las manos... Debemos ser creativos y positivos, sin perder de vista en ningún momento que la prioridad va a ser sentirnos seguros.

Va a ser muy importante que sigamos contando con la tecnología para que, en el caso de que alguien deje de asistir a clase por motivos de salud o prevención, pueda seguir realizando las actividades que desarrollamos en clase. En los primeros días os pediremos que nos actualicéis los correos electrónicos con los que poder contactar con vosotros y vuestras familias.

Queramos o no, este curso 2020-2021 arranca con una especial preocupación por mantenernos seguros frente al coronavirus. 

En nuestro centro, tenemos la enorme suerte de contar con Teresa, nuestra enfermera, que asume este año las funciones de Coordinadora COVID.

Como el curso pasado, cada unidad se articula en tres partes: pasado, presente y futuro.

Seguiremos el libro, en la medida de lo posible, leyendo, comentando y realizando alguna actividad escrita en el cuaderno. Lo combinaremos con otras actividades y temas de interés que vayan surgiendo a lo largo del curso.

 SOCIAL SCIENCE 6th Grade

The syllabus consists of six units, that can be distributed in 3 blocks, one per term.

El programa incluye seis unidades que se pueden distribuir en tres bloques claramente diferenciados, uno por trimestre.

During the first term we will develop two units related to Geography (Spain and Europe).

Throughout the second term we will develop two units about Spain's Modern History, 19th and 20th centuries.

In the third term we will study Spain's political system and some relevant ideas about the European Union.

 NATURAL SCIENCE 6th Grade

The syllabus is divided in six units.

El temario está dividido en 6 unidades:

As you can see, the first three units refer to the three vital functions we studied last year for all living things. This year we will focus in how the human body carries out these three functions: interaction, nutrition and reproduction.

The rest three units refer to other aspects of science: physics and technology.

I am planning to develop one basic function every term, together with another unit. 

Since last year we ended up  studying electricity, I think it makes sense to start this year with unit 5. Electricity and Magnetism. 

Como se puede ver, las tres primeras unidades hacen referencia a las tres funciones básicas que estudiamos el curso pasado con relación a todos los seres vivos. Este año nos centramos en cómo el cuerpo humano lleva a cabo las funciones de interacción, reproducción y nutrición.

Las otras tres unidades se refieren a otros aspectos de la ciencia (Física) y tecnología.

Me propongo desarrollar una función vital en cada trimestre, junto con otra de las unidades. 

Dado que el último tema que vimos en quinto fue el de Electricidad, considero razonable que empecemos este curso repasando algunos conceptos sobre energía y electricidad y desarrollando primeo la unidad 5 del libro que se refiere a Electricidad y magnetismo.
